British actor and model Pattinson was born on 13th May 1986 in London, England. Prior to being cast as vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight and New Moon movies, Robert Pattinson was best known for his role as Cedric Diggory in the fourth Harry Potter film, The Goblet of Fire.

Pattinson attended the Harrodian private school in London and later went on to act in amateur plays at the Barnes Theatre Company. Pattinson's middle name is Thomas and he has two older sisters, Lizzie and Victoria. He began his career at the age of twelve as a model but it only lasted for about four years. Pattinson was also awarded the Best Actor 2008 award at the Strasbourg Film Festival for his role as Art in the new film, How to Be. Pattinson will reprise his role as Edward Cullen in the saga's third installment Eclipse.
