Rumour mill in India says power couple, Aishwarya and Abhishek, have conflicting film schedules
Forget Hollywood, some of the greatest romances on the planet are taking place oceans away in Bollywood.
Take former Miss World and Bride & Prejudice star, Aishwarya Rai. She is engaged to Abhishek, the son of Amitabh Bachchan, one of India’s most beloved film stars.
Theirs is a megawatt relationship. The only question is: why is the newly engaged couple not setting a wedding date?
According to reports from Mumbai, they’re so busy with movie commitments that they have no time to sit with their parents (yes they still honour their folks in India) and fix a wedding date.
Other reports suggest that both Rai and the younger Bachchan want to put a quick end to the waiting and do the deed. Tie the know that is.
Abhishek has been filming the Goldie Behl flick, Drona. And Aishwarya is busy with Ashutosh Gowarikar’s project, Jodha Akbar.
And Abishek’s mum, renowned actress, Jaya Bachchan, is in Delhi attending the current parliamentary sessions.
"We still haven't got a date. The two of them are so busy, we haven't been able to sit down and work it out…I'm hoping we'd be able to sit down and finally, work out a date soon,” Amitabh Bachchan is quoted as saying in Indian papers.
In the meantime, tourism ministries of several European nations have already begun sending honeymoon invitations to Ash and Abhi. That may be rumour, it may be fact, but it certainly is a lovely sentiment.
Regardless, Abhishek and Aishwarya are not the only ones impatient about their wedding.
