Elle Fanning was born Mary Elle Fanning on April 9 1998 in Conyers, Georgia; Elle is the daughter of Joy and Steve Fanning and sister to Dakota Fanning. Like her sister, Dakota, Elle Fanning is of German/Irish descent and began her acting career at a very early age; Elle is rapidly becoming a promising Hollywood starlet, joining the ranks of other successful child actresses like Dakota Fanning, Abigail Breslin and British actress Emma Watson (of Harry Potter fame).

Elle Fanning has had acting success in both TV and film, in addition to being a guest on many of the top rated US TV shows; however, although Elle Fanning is now beginning to be recognized as an actress in her own right, she started out often in her sister Dakota's shadow. From 2003 to 2006, Elle Fanning starred in the following Hollywood movies:
